AI brought the creation of software within reach of other professions than software developer. Do you feel like this could influence the portrayal of the art in a positive way?
I think there's two big forces pushing in different directions there. On one side, if it becomes common to create to use tools like that, users who come up to the brink of the harder parts of software development will learn something about it. If some of those users are in, or cross-over into film or other media, you'd expect some change. Also, if they can expect audiences to have a bit more knowledge, they'd be more willing to take another step. Does it become a progression though or just a modest step up?
On the other hand, the negativity is building up, though I think mostly that's not landing on the heads of engineers. there's a separate stereotype centered around founders. The "tech-bro villian": https://www.wired.com/story/history-tech-bro-supervillain/. I don't think this stereotype does much to help understand how software is created. As a villain, it's predictably falling into tropes, but it's also more about finance, greed, and power than anything truly technical.
